The concept of sustainability appears frequently in the media, advertising, conferences and even informal conversations. But while it is a widely used term, its meaning is not always clear.
For us, sustainability means producing while respecting the planetary limits, minimizing the use of resources, generating value for all participants in our value chain and without environmental or social impacts.

Our origin is sustainable.

Our activity is based on using wool, a naturally renewable resource that would otherwise become waste. The valorisation of wool contributes to generate economic activity in rural areas, maintains ecosystems and improves the levels of territorial and social resilience.

At Textil Olius we have performed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of our products FELTINA®, Deco3, A270/250 and A270/350 to assess in an objective, rigorous and scientific manner the environmental impacts associated with all the stages of the life cycle of our products.

Based on this work, we have produced an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for each of our products.

An EPD transparently reports objective, comparable and third-party verified data about a product’s environmental performance from a lifecycle perspective.

At Textil Olius, we have the goal of “zero Waste” and we focus on reducing the most relevant waste generated in our value chain as much as possible in terms of quantity or possible impact on the environment:

Remains of fibres and felts: Textil Olius uses a very important part of the residual fibres and remains that it generates in its own industrial process, avoiding their deposition in landfills.
Wastewater: by operating our own wastewater treatment plant we remove substances from our wastewater that may be harmful to the environment.

Although we start from an advantageous position, we are aware that there is still a long way to go to reach our “ZERO WASTE” goal and we are committed to continuous improvement in this aspect.
